Recruiting Democratic Women for the 2021 Emerge Kentucky Class

Dear Party Chairs and Vice-Chairs,

Greetings!  I know that we are all in crunch time in the last month leading up to the election and I want to thank you for all the hard work you are doing to support our incredible candidates on the ballot.  I am reaching out today to introduce myself and ask for your help in recommending women for our 2021 Emerge Kentucky class.  I would much rather sit down with you each in person, so I apologize for just having to send an email, but time is of the essence to recruit our next class.

For those of you who do not know me, I am the new Executive Director of Emerge Kentucky, but I am not new to politics.  A proud Emerge Kentucky alum, I cut my teeth running for office for the 48th House Seat in Jefferson County and worked under Attorney General Andy Beshear in his Office of Victims Advocacy.  I am so excited about rejoining the political world to recruit and train Democratic women from diverse backgrounds to run for office across our Commonwealth.

Due to COVID, we are hosting online information sessions and interviewing some of our star Alumnae on Facebook to help generate interest and recruit women for the 2021 class.  Please know that we are still happy to come out and visit in a safe, socially distanced manner if that would help us connect with women in your area who are interested in running for office.

I ask for your help in recommending women for our Emerge Kentucky 2021 class.  The applications are open and will close on November 7, 2020.    If you send me names and numbers, I will call women and speak to them more about the program.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.  My cell is 502-291-1079. I look forward to working with all of you to build a stronger Kentucky.

With gratitude,

Gretchen Hunt | Emerge Kentucky
